How to Become an Arkansas
Security Guard

Below outlines the process of becoming a Phase 1 Private Security Guard in the State of Arkansas:

  • Review the Requirements

    Before starting, please review the requirements to become an Arkansas Security Guard:

    1. Applicants must be minimum of 18 years of age on day of security guard training.
    2. Applicants must be a United States citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
    3. Applicants must agree to abide by the Rules for Private Security Agencies and Act 393 as prescribed by the Arkansas State Police.
    4. Applicants must be able to pass the Phase I private security officer test with a minimum score of 70% or better.
    5. Applicants will be fingerprinting and undergo background checks by the Arkansas State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

  • Create a Profile

  • Complete Training

    Upon successfully completing the background check process, you will be asked to register for a Private Security Guard Officer Training at one of our training locations.

  • Background Check

    Next, your fingerprints will be sent to the Arkansas State Police and FBI for background checks.

  • Job Placement

    Once your training is complete, you will be recommended for placement with one or more security guard agencies in the state of Arkansas.
